Chili Oil Green Beans

One of the many things we've missed in terms of food during this lock-down has been varieties of Asian foods. A favorite for us has always been the spicy edamame at Akahana in Plaza-Midwood. We go for the sushi or the Chinese options, but always start with this.

While this recipe, if you can really call it one, is super simple and isn't exactly the same, it is equally delicious and we can make it with ingredients we currently have available to us from our store. Green beans, Dumpling Lady Sichuan chili oil, and soy sauce.

The Chili Oil is the main ingredient and is packed with spicy balanced flavor - we use it for all sorts of things other than just her dumplings. Marinade for chicken or pork, a coating for grilled corn, spoonful or two in soup.

ORDER: Green Beans

The Steps:

1) Bring a pot of water to a rapid boil - you need enough water to fully cover the beans. Once it is fully boiling drop in the greens beans, leave the heat the same. Once the water comes back to a boil allow to cook for 2 - 3 minutes.

2) While boiling fill a bowl with ice and cold water. When the beans are done pull them out and drop in the ice bath. Allow to fully cool, another 2 - 3 minutes, and drain.

ORDER: Dumpling Lady Sichuan Chili Oil

3) Using the same bowl pour over Dumpling Lady Sichuan Chili Oil, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, a bit of black pepper. Stir fully...

4) Eat!
